Daredevils win a pot boiler

25May08

The Mumbai Indians posted a total of 176 runs but it wasnt enough to stop the Delhi Daredevils from winning the match. The Indians started of well by posting some 100 runs in 10 overs but with Jayasuriya’s wicket things seemed to slow down. If it wasnt for Uthappa’s late charge Mumbai would have been bowled out for much less. Needing to get 177 rums from 20 overs, the Daredevils got the worst possible start with Sehwag and Gambhir falling early. However Dinesh Karthik’s half century helped them stay afloat in the tournament with his match winning knock of 56.
